What are we on about? Well, we love coffee, food and wine and we thought we’d let others in on the fun. We opened early in 2009 and converted a newsagent/café into the café/restaurant in its current form and we think it has come up pretty nicely.
We are open 7 days for breakfast and lunch with dinners and evening drinks on the way. We provide catering for local businesses and parties; anything from the essentials to the ultra-fancy. We are also available for private functions and bookings and can cater for events up to 200 people.
Our beautiful red gum table weighs around 750kg and can sit up to 16 people. “How did you get it in here?” is what we often hear. It was in two pieces and we had quite a few helpers! It can be booked for breakfasts, lunches, dinners or meetings.
We are serious about great quality and service and those who join us regularly will agree that we take a lot of pride in what we do. Come down and enjoy the space that we have had a great time creating! We did a bit of simple maths and, given our previous coffee consumption, we figured it would just be cheaper in the long run if we bought a café. It is our first business, so we are really enjoying the opportunity to build something great for Nunawading to enjoy. Who said it would be easy? – as it turns out, running a business is a lot of hard work.

Over some sensational noodles and many beers, Neil and Phil decided there were better places to be than unemployed (or even in office jobs).
We started doing some sums and figuring out what it would take to start up a café of our own. Surely it wouldn’t be that difficult! We looked around and found a newsagent/café in Nunawading – it was perfect, well it needed a little work to get it to where we wanted, but it would be perfect one day.
Our philosophy is that life is to be enjoyed and having some good food and drink makes that quite a bit easier. Our staff will attest to the fact that we have a good time and don’t take things too seriously – hopefully this rubs off on others.
We do fully appreciate those that help us make this an enjoyable venue and have had a great deal of help from many others in this whole undertaking. We really value having good people around us to help us out. Our staff are all genuine and great people and we highly value everything they add to the business and especially to the vibe of the place. Our families and friends have been extremely helpful with plenty of advice as well as manual labour. It really is the people that make the place!
